CURRICULUM
Learning, teaching, assessment, and promoting the raising of standards of attainment among all pupils, in particular in communication, using mathematics and using Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)
We believe in every child, in their dreams and aspirations to live, happy, productive, prosperous and fulfilling lives. In doing so we strive to enable our pupils to do great work, to love what they do, empowering them to have control over their own destiny and to achieve great things.
We do this, by providing a safe, nurturing, stimulating and engaging educational environment, one that facilitates high quality, child centred teaching and learning, one that meets the needs of every child; an education that can provide them with the skills, knowledge, understanding and disposition to grow and develop, not only to realise their potential, but also their aspirations.
Provision is therefore based on best practice as identified in our Learning & Teaching Policy, requiring a consistent, cohesive and structured approach, effectively maximising learning opportunities and the use of time while also promoting creativity, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills. Class/Year group timetables, agreed at Key Stage level, ensure that all classes prioritise the use of time, enabling all of the requirements for curriculum delivery to be met. Classes in every year group work parallel to each other ensuring consistency of high-quality provision across the school. Clear and comprehensive curriculum planning is essential to ensure high quality teaching and learning in the school. All planning is undertaken collaboratively at both Year Group and Key Stage level, facilitated by on-going reflective practice with weekly year group planning meetings and monthly Key Stage meetings. Planning is further monitored, evaluated and reviewed by Heads of Key Stage and subject leaders each term.

“The fact is that given the challenges we face; education doesn't need to be reformed -- it needs to be transformed. The key to this transformation is not to standardize education, but to personalize it, to build achievement on discovering the individual talents of each child, to put students in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions.”
